A great deal of confusion surrounded the nature of Catherine Hardwicke's Plush as she began pulling the cast together. Officially there were two completely different plots, but the same cast consisting of Emily Browning, and Twilight hunks Cam Gigandet and Xavier Samuel. One was a psycho-thriller involving a telepathic therapist, the other was an erotic thriller about a depressed rock star. Eventually the latter won out, and after more than a year of practically no updates on it, the film is done and a trailer has arrived.
A poster for Plush hit the web a few days ago, and it appears that the first trailer was quietly released around the same time. Browning plays Haley, a rocker still hurting after the drug overdose death of her brother and bandmate. She finds romantic happiness and greater creative heights with the arrival of the mysterious Enzo, a new member of the band, until he starts pushing the sexual boundaries beyond where she's willing to go.
There's little in the way of plot revealed here in favor of an aggressive, high energy mood reminiscent of trailers for The Bling Ring. We'll see how it all comes together when Plush opens on September 13th.
