We call him 'Mr. Big' but the real world calls him Chris Noth and when the famous heart stealer of Sex and the City's "Carrie Bradshaw" needed to lose weight for the movie's sequel, Sex and the City 2, Noth nixed traditional means of Hollywood slim down plans.
Recent new of the Kardashian sisters' Quick Trim weight loss pill and Madonna's extreme diets have left to wonder if there's a healthy way to lose weight? But leave it to celebs like Tyra Banks and Chris Noth to bring hope to the healthy-hearted.
In order to drop some pounds for Sex and the City 2, "Big", as we shall call him, took a nine-day holistic health retreat to Ilha Grande, Brazil.
Noth praciticed yoga, ate a strict, vegetarian diet and lead an otherwise normal, healthy and active lifestyle during his stay.
In an interview with Us Weekly magazine, "Big" said he enjoyed the typical Hollywood alternative and was able to get into the holistic approach at the Brazillian resort.
“I went for nine days. It was a total vegetarian diet. Basically, you spend all day doing yoga, hiking, kayaking, eating vegetarian food, no coffee, no alcohol, no meat,” Noth told the mag.
Dish on, "Mr. Big". What about the yoga?
Noth mentioned to the magazine that yoga was enough to keep him focused on its own behalf. Fellow celebrity yogis include Madonna and pop singer and actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.
“I’m not a big yoga person, so that was hard. But it was basic Hatha yoga," Noth said. "I loved it."
Off the resort and back state-side, Noth is now filiming and working hard to keep his hard work maintained and weight steady.
But he'll have to do more than just put on a few pounds to keep Sex and the City hearts from pounding. The movie sequel, Sex and the City 2, is set to premiere May 28, 2010.
