I am always looking for very cool items to make and here's one of them. For those of us with sewing machines, I'm sure, if you're like me, the machines are just sitting on the table, desk, counter or wherever your sewing machine is kept. That is fine, but if you are like me, you don't cover it up, do you? I don't and probably should.
Covering up the sewing machine keeps dust away and keeps the machine running smoothly. I do have a cover, but it's the ugly plastic cover that came with the machine. I had thought about painting it, but I'm not much of a painter. So this idea just might have to do.
About a year ago, Ellison Lane Quilts came up with a very cool sewing machine quilt cover. Because she is a quilter (and her items are awesome!) the sewing machine cover is quilted. The reason I like this cover is how it incorporates a sewing machine onto the quilt. I've never seen one of these before.
The other reason I like it is how it includes a template for a sewing machine which I have thought about putting onto a quilt of my own. So finding this rather cool idea has sparked other ideas which is why I love finding things others do online. Before the internet, it was just my ideas bounced around in my head. Now I can bounce my ideas off others and create something very cool!
