Severed leg victim Sian Green, who made national headlines in August, reunited with her rescuer, David Justino, on Tuesday’s episode of “The Dr. Oz Show”.
“The Dr. Oz Show” aired an emotional reunion between Dr. Oz, British taxicab accident survivor Sian Green and the Good Samaritan, plumber David Justino, who helped stopped the bleeding from Sian’s severed leg by using his belt as a tourniquet.
Sian’s story garnered national headlines when a rogue taxicab unexpectedly drove onto the sidewalk and struck Ms. Green, 23, who sat on the wall of a fountain located on 6th Avenue in New York City, directly across the street from “The Dr. Oz Show” production offices. The terrifying accident was close enough for Dr. Oz to observe the commotion and thankfully assist at the scene until the ambulance arrived.
One day after her release from the hospital, Sian Green met Dr. Oz for the first time, and was then reunited with the man, David Justino, who likely saved her life.
Before the tragic accident, Sian and her best friend were excited to go to Dash, the Kardashian’s store, and purchase t-shirts.
We decided to try and look for Dash, the Kardashain’s store, and we were just walking. Because we’re huge fans, so we were like ‘Yes, we get to go to Dash! We get to see the store. They’ve been there. They’ve walked the floor’. And we just wanted to do that. We just wanted to get Dash t-shirts.
Although Sian has lost a limb, her outlook on life is positive, even though she has had moments of, “why me?”
Those questions always roll through your mind. Even still now, I still get those days where I’m not as happy, not as smiley, but I still do smile. But it’s just in the back of my mind, like I’m 24-years-old and this happened to me with my bestest friend walking and enjoying life and that’s why you shouldn’t take anything for granted, because it can be gone like that.
I've got my life. I can be with my family and friends. I can go back to school. I can go back to work. I can enjoy my life, my boyfriend and my dogs. I've got too much to look forward to.
Sian’s inspirational story and emotional reunion can be seen on Tuesday’s airing of “The Dr. Oz Show”, check local listings for channels and times.
