Severe weather creating slick and hazardous driving conditions in Colorado

Light snow will continue to fall over the Denver area and Palmer Divide through this afternoon/early evening. Areas of freezing drizzle are slowly moving across the area creating hazardous driving conditions. Snowfall rates will continue to be a quarter inch per hour or less. 

Closed to traffic

I-25 Southbound South of Trinidad of Trinidad (milemarker 11) due to adverse weather. For NM road conditions, call 1-800-432-4269. Road closure began December 19th, 2011 at 11:08 a.m. 

Closed intermittently

I-70 Eastbound/Westbound Glenwood Springs-Eagle (milemarker 122-123. Twenty minute traffic stopf for rockfall mitigation both directionsl. Partial closure began December 19th, 2011 at 10:25 am.

US 287 Southbound/Northbound Lamar to Oklahoma (milemarker 1-73). Closed because of numerous accidents and severe weather. Road closure began December 19, 2011 at 1:11 pm.

According to the National Digital Forecast Database, tonight will be mostly cloudy in the evening and overnight becoming partly cloudy. Chance of snow early evening then slight chance of snow until midnight with lows around 11 degree F with a chance of snow about 30%.
