Severe thunderstorms possible across northern Ohio today

A complex of thunderstorms will move southeastward across our area this morning. A few of these storms could be strong with gusty winds and hail possible.

The storms will exit to the southeast around mid day, and skies will partially clear. Thunderstorms are expected to redevelop later this afternoon and continue into the evening hours as a cold front moves across the area. A few of the storms late this afternoon could be severe.

On Thursday, high pressure will build across the region. The air aloft will be quite chilly so a stray shower will be possible. We will see a similar situation on Friday with partly sunny skies and a slight chance of a stray shower expected.

Here is the forecast: For today, it will be cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely during the morning, then partly cloudy with a chance of late day storms. Highs will be in the mid 70s. Winds SW 5-10 mph.

Tonight, showers and thunderstorms early, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows will be in the mid 50s. Winds SW 5-10 mph.

Thursday will be partly sunny with a slight chance of a shower. Highs will be near 70. Winds NW 10-15 mph.

Thursday night, partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower. Lows will be in the mid 40s.

Friday, partly sunny with a slight chance of a shower. Highs will be in the upper 60s.

Extended Analysis: High pressure will build across the region and dominate the weather through the holiday weekend. Temperatures will gradually warm each day and there will be a noticeable increase in humidity by Monday.
