Several ways to save at Good Samaritan Family Thrift Store

Oliver Gospel Mission Good Samaritan Family Thrift Store at 10012 Two Notch Road is becoming a favorite haunt of Columbia thrifty fashion shoppers. The store is immaculate, shiny bright, very well lighted, laid out attractively and with spacious aisles. The staff is friendly, grateful for community support, and very helpful. There is free off-street parking and handicapped access; space is adequate but somewhat limited. Donations are accepted at the red door to the right of the building. Please note several ways to save even more:

  • Wednesday is Senior Discount Day
  • Thursday is Ladies’ Day
  • Each month a particular color tag is only fifty cents

The Oliver Gospel Mission is located at 1100 Taylor Street and is well known to many people in Columbia and provides hot meals and housing for the homeless men and women in our city. They are aided in their efforts by several mission partners, including De Loache Flowers and Romano’s Macaroni Grill.

Good Samaritan Family Thrift Store has racks of children’s clothing and toys, women’s tanks, tops, tees, embellished, beaded and dressy knits, popular junior styles, print and plaids, patterns and ruffles. There are also slacks, suits, sweaters, blazers and jackets, jeans, skirts, dresses, dressy dresses, shoes, hats, handbags and more. Everything is in good to new condition and the price range for tops is from about $.99 to $4.99. There is a marvelous selection of dressy and casual shoes in a wide selection of sizes, with a few brand new name brands and a few pair of boots.

There is a section for men with tees, shirts, suit separates, jackets, jeans, men’s accessories, and more. The gleaming jewelry counter has necklaces, chic multi-bracelets, French hook earrings, a few watches, and a selection of seasonal hats, handbags and accessories.

The thrifty fashion finds this week were a long stonewashed denim jumper by Gap, a micro ribbed red tee by Derek Heart with front button detail, a glittery butterfly embellished top by Bianca Nygard, a robin’s egg blue V-neck tee from St. John’s Bay, and a black checked short sleeve shirt by Southern Lady, each priced at only fifty cents and each in near-new condition.

Good Samaritan Family Thrift Store is surely worth adding to our favorite “fishing holes.” It also feels good to know that every piece of clothing we select and every pair of shoes we bring home helps Columbia’s homeless by providing meals and temporary shelter. Happy thrifty fashion shopping~
