Sycamore High School alumnus and former, founding member of Blessid Union of Souls, Eddie Hedges will be in Cincinnati on Wednesday, March 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for the 7th Annual Fashion for the Cure, which will be held at Sycamore High School. Tickets are $10 at the door.
ProKids, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for abused and neglected children in foster care, will be the beneficiary of Sycamore High School’s 7th Annual Fashion for the Cure.
The fundraiser, to be held at Sycamore High School, 7400 Cornell Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, will include a silent auction, a fashion show, and a speech from former foster child, Keyasha Spikes.
According to officials, the fashion show is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. Guests will also have an opportunity to show their support with a basket raffle that kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Hedges will also sing BUOS signature song, “I Believe” during the event.
“It’s always great to come home to family and friends. This time, I am so honored to be a part of a worthy cause that supports the work of ProKids. Everyone is really coming together to reach out to the kids in our community through a wonderful event like this. I also look forward to meeting Keyasha and hearing her inspirational story,” Hedges said.
Fashion for the Cure is an annual student-run, charity fashion show that is held at Sycamore High School. Each year, members of the all-student committee choose a local nonprofit organization to support and this year, ProKids was selected.
Officials reported that in the past six years, over $75,000 has been raised for Cincinnati area charities. They said the event has continued to grow every year and the fundraising efforts have dramatically increased, allowing them to help meet the needs of the selected charities.
In the past, Sycamore High School has raised money for Cancer Family Care, The Cure Starts Now, an organization dedicated to fighting pediatric brain cancer, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The American Foundation of Suicide Prevention, and To Write Love on Her Arms.
Although Hedges now resides in Los Angeles with his family, he frequently performs in the Tri-State area when he returns home to Cincinnati.
In addition to concerts and live appearances, Hedges has released four solo albums, Celebrate Christmas, Faith Like a Child, Sonday and Something to Believe In.
