Even though Noah's Ark has not been found yet, we have God's Word, the Bible, which is recorded in the book of Genesis, that the Ark rested on the mountains of Ararat. "And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged: The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained: And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat" (Genesis 8:1-4).
The discovery of Noah's Ark would not only provide profound confirmation of the authority of God's Word. But would carry profound implications of many fields of science such as geology, biology, anthropology, zoology, archaeology, and astronomy to name a few. These seven implications would change the evolutionary mindset of the secular world.
1. Noah's Flood was definitely not a local flood but a global one.
Just by finding Noah's Ark upon the mountains of Ararat would settle the question that Noah's Flood was global and not local. Why would God have Noah build a boat of such proportions that took over a hundred years to build, while listening patiently to the mockery of his contemporaries, to fill the ark with land dwelling animals, that was shut up in the vessel with Noah and his family for over a year, just for a local flood. If this flood was only local God would of just told Noah to move from the region.
2. All humans today are from Noah's lineage, the only people living after the Flood.
This would leave the modern evolutionary tale just that, a tale that is fictional. The "missing link" would be missing forever (as it always been). The ape-like creatures in the natural history museums are imaginary. They never existed. Most were man-made hoaxes such as Java Man, Nebraska Man, Piltdown Man and many more hoaxes. The ape-like creatures they did find are a type of primate. Scientists have never found complete skeletons of these creatures.
3. Secular geology books will need to be rewritten.
With the proof of the worldwide Flood in Noah's day. The cataclysmic flood which the Bible records is the cause of fossil formation, coal and oil formation, cave formation, sedimentary rock layers (strata), volcanism, erosion, mountain formation, and glaciation to name a few. The geologic features we see on the earth today were a result of this Flood, such as the Grand Canyon and other canyons; mountain ranges such as the Himalayas, Alps, Rocky Mountains to name a few. Then there is the amazing cave formations such as Carlsbad Caverns and Mammoth Cave. The earth shows these geologic features that points to a global flood.
4. The idea of billions of years would vanish.
The age of the Earth would not be billions of years old but only thousands of years old. The Bible gives a date of about 4,400 years ago for the Flood. The "millions upon millions of years ago" timescale would just be a secular fairy tale that would finally be put to rest.
5. All evolutionary biology and anthropology books would become obsolete.
The global flood in Noah's day is what gave us the fossil record. It shuts down the record of evolution. These evolutionary trees that adorn biology textbooks will finally be cut down. The land animals that were on the ark are also found in the fossil record. Because two of each kind (male and female) were on the Ark. Dinosaurs were on the Ark, which are called "dragons" in the Bible. The ones that got off the Ark and survived the Flood, later became extinct because of the changed climate, cannibalism, hunted by man, or starved to death. Some of these dragons (dinosaurs) might possibly be alive today.
6. The Ark would be the oldest man-made structure to exist.
Noah's Ark would be the oldest man-made structure on Earth. Because the global flood destroyed all previous man-made structures leaving the Ark as the oldest in existence. Some people believe the Pyramids in Egypt are the oldest structures. But there is no evidence of any erosion on them from the cataclysmic worldwide Flood of Noah's day.
7. It would shut the mouths of the doubting Thomas mockers and scoffers of the world.
Thomas, one of the twelve apostles called Didymus (John 20:24), was known as "doubting Thomas" by the secular world. It does not call him that in the Bible. He is alluded to that because he doubted the Resurrection of Jesus Christ until he seen Jesus' nail prints and the hole from the spear that was in Jesus' side (John 20:25-29). The Ark would shut the mouths these scoffers and mockers (2 Peter 3:3-6). By seeing it physically would be the only way they will believe it existed.
Even if the Noah's Ark is never found "upon the mountains of Ararat", it does not effect me. Because I believe by faith in God's Word: The Holy Bible (KJV), that it existed and is recorded in Genesis chapters 6 through 8.
