If you are planning to get a job in the floral industry and have a keen interest to be a floral artist or to start your own floral shop, one of the most important things you need to do is earning reasonable flower arranging skills.
“Reasonable skills” should mean a certain level of floral design skills with which you can make your own floral decorations which can be accepted and appreciated by people other than you. If you are not engaged in floral business and work on floral designs just for hobby, this must be the skill you can utilize for making floral arrangements to decorate your home or office. Or it should be the skill enough to make a floral gift you can give to your friend.
If you are planning to open your own floral shop or work as a professional floral artist, “reasonable skills” should mean a decent level of skills with which you can offer floral decorating services for weddings or funerals. Or it must be the skill enough to make a floral designs that can be sold in your floral shop. Since you offer flower arranging services as a professional floral designer for getting paid by your customers, you must reach the level of satisfying your customers. If your customer is not satisfied with your floral decorations, you can never get a repeat order from the same customer. And you may face a difficult time that the customer who is not satisfied with your service MIGHT make an unfavorable comment about your performance which may appear on the internet.
If you consider various things which might happen in connection with your performance, it is highly recommended to acquire a decent level of flower arranging skills. Especially people who are planning to work as a professional floral designer or floral shop owner should seriously plan to earn good skills of floral designing. As far as you offer floral arranging services as a volunteer or just for free of charge, your “customers” are always generous. However once you start charging to your customers, they are neither generous nor lenient about your performance which should be well taken into your consideration.
No matter whether you plan to engage in floral business or not, as far as you would like to earn practical skills of flower arranging, it is highly recommended to take lessons from a reliable flower arranging instructor. One of the best points in taking lessons from a teacher is you always have lots of opportunities that your instructor will make correction about the poor points in your arrangements.
If you are a self-taught designer, you never have a chance of getting corrected on your poor or wrong points of designs, which means you can never expect to improve your skills in the self-taught way.
Due to the above mentioned reasons, those who have never learned floral designs are highly recommended to start from the elementary course of which curriculum consists of lots of basic arrangements which are pretty important for you to establish the foundation of your floral designing skills.
