Comedian and “Family Guy” creator, Seth MacFarlane, hosted the 2013 Oscars, and the reactions are in! On Monday, Feb. 25, The Hollywood Reporter released a collection of reaction tweets from several Hollywood stars, sharing their opinion on MacFarlane’s job as host.
Surprisingly, MacFarlane received good responses for the most part. Stars claim to have been entertained by MacFarlane; some going as far as saying this was the best Oscars ceremony yet. Of course, there’s always a group that doesn’t agree. “Saturday Night Live” alumni Chris Kattan, was one of the first to share how he didn’t like Seth was very funny. “While watching #TheOscars,” Kattan tweeted, “I’m starting to wish Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were there.”
Joining Chris Kattan was the support group, The Women’s Media Center, who tweeted, “Seth MacFarlane’s joke about women: Brought to you from the 1950’s #OscarWomen.” This came after MacFarlane joked, “’Django Unchained’ is a movie where a woman is subjected to violence, or as we call it, a Chris Brown and Rihanna date movie.”
