Seth MacFarlane opens 85th Academy Awards with “We Saw Your Boobs” song

There were concerns as well as high hopes for what Seth MacFarlane would do as host of the 85th Academy Awards. Some speculated he would offend while others believed he would titillate. He did both with an opening number entitled “We Saw Your Boobs.”

A big screen was lowered with a communication from Captain Kirk warning Seth to stop the show before he earned the unenviable title of “worst Oscar host ever.” Seth asked what he had done to earn such a despicable tile and Capt. Kirk showed a film clip of MacFarlane and a chorus of men in tuxedos singing a song about all the actresses who bared their breasts and in which films.

The peppy number was at first startling but as it continued, the shock turned to humor. The cameras panned to a number of the named actresses in the audiences, each looking ashamed or irritated at being called out in song. But it was all in good fun and the opening will no doubt go down in Oscar history as one of the funnier and more entertaining numbers to ever open the show.
