Reported Tuesday, Sony Pictures Entertainment is negotiating with "King of Kong" director, Seth Gordon, to helm the live action film adaption of "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune."

According to Deadline, Gordon is set to direct the popular Naughty Dog series, which started on the PlayStation 3 in 2007, with a recent script written by "Safe House" scribe David Guggenheim. Gordon is well known to the gaming community for his "King of Kong" documentary, that followed Steve Wiebe attempting to break the "Donkey Kong" arcade high score set by Billy Mitchell. He also directed the 2011 comedy, "Horrible Bosses," and "Identity Theft" last year.

An "Uncharted" film has been in the works for quite some time, but has suffered setbacks in loss of directors and rewrites by different writers. If Deadline is correct, than the live action "Uncharted" film is finally back on track. And just in time for the new PS4 game set to debut soon. Sony has also started production for animated movies based on PlayStation series like "Ratchet & Clank," "Sly Cooper," and possibly "Jak & Daxter."
