The first photos have begun to surface from the set of José Padilha's upcoming Robocop remake, which began filming today in Toronto, and give us our first good look at Robocop's new armor!
Most fans of Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 cult classic are still on the fence about how much Padilha can hope to try and match the emotional impact that the first film had on audiences. The original film, which starred Peter Weller as Alex Murphy, spawned a sequel, a live-action TV series and an animated series popular enough to launch a major of action figures in the early 1990s.
While the movie still has a solid year to go before hitting the big screen (it begins filming next month), the marketing campaign for the remake has already begun on the web with a viral OCP Company website that was launched several weeks ago.

Directed by Jose Padilha, Robocop stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson and will arrive in theaters in 2013.
