Sestak blames Democratic leaders

Rep. Joe Sestak blames Democratic leaders in Congress for the significant drop in public support for reforming the health care system. Sestak goes on to accuse the leadership of failing to defend proposals that helped carry the party to victories in 2008. In a meeting with reporters, Sestak went on to say, “At times, I find the caucus is a real disappointment. We aren’t transparent, not just to the public but at times to the members.”

Rep Sestak had been urged to run for the Senate seating now being held by Sen. Arlen Specter. However, after Specter switched parties and joined the Democratic party, Sestak was pressured to abandon the idea of a run for the seat. As the May primary approached, Sestak will face the obstacle of a running against the party leadership’s chosen candidate.
