SeSe Foster of the R&B/pop female trio Miss Dynamix has now publicly revealed that she is pregnant with her second child and is due to give birth in January 2014. Miss Dynamix is one of the Top 12 contestant acts that were chosen to perform on "The X Factor" U.K.'s live episodes in 2013, which begin on Oct. 12.
Miss Dynamix (which is being mentored by "X Factor" U.K. judge Gary Barlow) was formed on "The X Factor" U.K. when the show put together three contestants who auditioned for the show under other circumstances.
Foster (who is 22) was part of a trio named Dynamix, which was put through to boot camp, but "The "X Factor" U.K. judges told her that she should go solo. The other members of Dyanmix were male.
Miss Dynamix members Jeanette Akua and Rielle Carrington originally auditioned for "The X Factor" U.K. as solo singers.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror, Foster insists that she plans to perform right up until she is ready to give birth: “I found out I was pregnant at about three and a half months and I’m now at the 22-week stage. The dad, who is looking after my daughter, was thrilled. My new bandmates have been brilliant, they have been so supportive and really positive. They’re already playing the auntie roles perfectly feeding me up and making sure I eat healthily ...
"Even when I had my first child I was actually performing right up until I gave birth and I was back on stage one week later – literally. I’m like my mum. I just bounce right back and I thank God, I mean, would you believe I am almost six months?"
And how did Barlow react when Foster told him about her pregnancy? Foster told the Daily Mirror: “He was over the moon. He talked to me about his children and said any advice I need he’s there for me. I feel doubly blessed. I’ve got really exciting times ahead with the girls in the band and finding out about the baby has been like the cherry on the cake. 2014 will be a year to remember.”
Barlow commented, "She’s pregnant, so we’re going to really look after her. But it’s not a disability! [There are] girls up and down the country who are going to work right up until [they give birth] and then they’ll be back at work."
Foster's group mates in Miss Dynamix are also supportive, they say. Akua said, “I’ve already made sure SeSe has me and Rielle down as godmothers. We’ve gone from a three-piece band to three-and-a-half-piece band.”
This isn't the first time that there has been a pregnant contestant who was on "The X Factor" U.K. live episodes.
In 2011, Charley Bird of the female duo 2 Shoes was seven months pregnant when she performed on the show's first live episode of the year. 2 Shoes, along with three other contestant acts, were eliminated the following night. Bird gave birth to a boy named Beaux in December 2011.
2 Shoes went on to sign to Universal Music's All Around the World Productions, which released 2 Shoes' first single, a cover version of Kathy Brown's "Turn Me On (Turn Me Out)," in 2012. The single flopped, and 2 Shoes have faded back into obscurity.
