Service dog missing in Virginia

On March 8, a black Labrador retriever named "Beta," disappeared from a training facility in Key West, Va.

Beta is a diabetic alert dog for a girl named Kylie, who lives hundreds of miles away in Texas.

Beta had been sent to Virginia to do additional training with Warren Retrievers, but while in their care, she bolted while off-leash, after being spooked by some horses.

Beta, who is just 11-months-old, is described as "very shy," and she has not been seen since she ran off.

Dan Warren, with Warren Retrievers, told WTVR News:

“It’s a desperate plea for someone to do the right thing, turn this dog back in, contact us. There’s a girl dependent on this medical alert, diabetic alert dog for this organization to promptly return this dog back to the rightful owner, which is that family,”

Beta is not spayed, weighs approximately 45 pounds, and does have an AVID microchip. Anyone with information is asked to contact: 817-909-2171.
