For an unsigned band out of Dallas, Serosia has been busy making music for awhile now. The bands first proper national release "Variables" is catching fire across the country although the band has issued several previous releases 'The Current State of Being,' 'Perspective and Balance,' and 'The Vehicle'.
And it turns out that Serosia received some wise advice from a gentleman very well known in heavy metal/hard rock circles, Cristian Machado, the lead singer for Ill Nino. Explains D'Agata - "After releasing our first EP, 'The Current State of Being,' in 2007, we were making waves online due mainly in part to constant promotion and also from being one of the first Dallas bands to hit a million unique profile views on Myspace. At some point towards the end of that year, Cris and Laz [Pina] contacted us about how they really dug our sound and the possibility of recording an album with them. They also offered us some very well thought and intricate producer advice on the songs already in place as well."
I can tell you that the album is off the hook and takes the listener in many directions, but the band wants you to interpret things for yourself. No BS, no dead and bored dudes putting on a show, just a straight up killer new band that you must check out immediately. Check out the video and go check out the band at these links:

Interview with Derek
Serosia, you are a new name to me, but I love the sounds; can you sort of do an intro of the band for me?
Sure man, we were on tour until Oct. 10th. We have just been getting hotter by the night as a band. It is an amazing feeling when people are screaming your name and singing your songs.
You guys are did some dates with Sevendust, yes?
Yes, we did some shows with them and also Ten Years.
Pretty cool experience?
Some of the people you meet like Billings, Montana; at a Taco truck we met this guy there and we ended up crashing at his place. He was really giving and he made us food and stuff so, very cool.
I did get a chance to check out ‘Silence Weapons For Quiet Wars’ off ‘Perspective and Balance’ awesome song so now I need to get that one myself; what did you guys do with the release of that CD as far as touring?
When we released that album we went out with Parabel, the singer from Evans Blue, we did a tour on that album. After that we had a couple of member changes but after that we focused on writing a new album. That one we toured for about 6 months.
No doubt the band has the sound and the songs, who would you point out as influences?
One would be Deftones, Tool; as far as me I listened to Helmet, Tool and bands like that.
Can you talk about the album ‘Variables’?
That album is the most personal to us. We recorded it at Soundhorse with Christian from El Nino. He’s a good friend and a manager as well. We really came into our own and the music really shines through. Each song is so different in textures and the way it goes, that’s why we named it ‘Variables’.
‘Superposition’ is a very cool tune, what is it about?
It’s about being in two different places at the same time. It’s a play on words but that is what it means.
What else is in the plans for the band as we finish out 2013 and head into 2014?
We are going to go home for a bit and then go back out on the road, pretty much non-stop until the end of the year, we’ll be everywhere man!
What else should the world know about the band that I didn’t ask?
We love people, music, tours; we are just real people trying to make it in the music industry.
Last question until the next time, what would you like to say to the readers and fans out there?
Embrace our music and us as people and I think everyone will get it!
