Serious crash on Edgley Avenue in Bristol

Bristol Twp. Police are treating an early morning crash as if it was a fatal collision. Today, April 17 , 2014 just before 9:00 a.m. a cement truck owned by JDM Morrisey Company collided with a passenger car, as the car had exited onto Edgely Ave. The driver was pinned in his vehicle for over 20 minutes.

Rescue companies from Bristol and Falls Twp. rushed to the scene .They used ram tools and cutters to remove the roof and dash to free the driver. There were no passengers in the car, police said. The driver of the cement truck was treated for chest pains at the scene of the crash.

Edgley Ave. was closed to traffic as police used measuring equipment to determine the cause. Employees of JDM Morrisey were observed walking through the debris field, trying to determine a definite cause. The truck was loaded with cement and it was allowed to keep churning to not harden.

Bystanders were kept at bay as they tried to walk to the scene for a closer look. No names have been released as of the early afternoon. The person who was in the vehicle was described as a male who is in very critical condition. He was rushed to a local trauma center.
