Mendes is known for being a top selling Brazilian artist with his group Brasil '66. Consistently holding songs that made the top 5, Sergio and his group were a international sensation in America in the late 1960's. Their self-titled debut LP rose to number six nationally, propelled by the presence of the single "Mas Que Nada."
Sheila E., previously a drummer for the band Azteca back in the 80's, made her solo debut after the songwriter/artist Prince discovered her in 1984. Sheila joined Prince's band for the 1987 Sign O' the Times tour and is known for her hit "A Belle's of ST. Mark" off the Sheila E. In A Glamourous Life album, and "A Love Bizzare" charting to number 11 off her Sheila E. In Romance 1600 album.
