Sequoia Park Zoo to host Annual Great Zoo Egg-stravaganza

For the fifteenth year, the Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka will welcome spring and celebrate Easter with its annual Great Zoo Egg-stravaganza on Sat., March 30. Families can join in all sorts of fun' everything from egg hunts to egg-speditions to games and crafts will take place beginning at noon. Before the festivities wind down at 4 p.m. participants will also have the opportunity to meet some of the zoo's residents up close and see some of those residents get their own Easter treats.

Nicole Spencer, Sequoia Park Zoo Foundation Director of Development and Communications says, “Come rain or shine, we will be celebrating spring with a wide array of activities that cater to both the young and young at heart.”

Activities planned include:

  • Honey Bee Toss
  • Bunny Hop
  • Insect Hide & Seek
  • Egg Decorating
  • Wildflower Crafts
  • Butterfly Clothespin Crafts

More than two dozen Humboldt County businesses have joined together to sponsor the annual event at the Sequoia Park Zoo this year. With the price of admission to the zoo, all the Great Zoo Egg-stravaganza activities are free. The zoo is at 3414 W Street in Eureka.
