Looking for a sweet treat to give that special someone on Valentine's Day? How about a delicious hand-decorated cupcake featuring a polar bear or a red panda? Sequoia Park Zoo and Redwood Coast Chapter American Association of Zookeepers (RCAAZK) are teaming up to provide Cupcakes for Conservation. One hundred percent of the purchase price of these delicious cupcakes go to either the Red Panda Network or Trees for You and Me, a Polar Bears International partnership with AAZK chapters.
Cupcakes for Conservation will provide an edible, animal-themed cupcake to your friends, family and sweethearts. Each package contains a beautifully decorated cupcake topped with an edible representation of the chosen animal (red panda or polar bear), a unique photo of the animal and a personalized card to your special Valentine. Delivery is available in Eureka and Arcata and cupcakes can also be picked up at the Sequoia Park Zoo on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
A choice of chocolate of yellow cake is available and in addition to having the cupcake decorated with a polar bear or red panda, there are four Valentine's Day messages to choose from. One cupcake is $10, two are $15 and 3 are $20. This a unique treat for sweethearts and loved ones to receive on Valentine's Day and the money raised will be used for conservation projects, educational programs, animal enrichment activities and other preservation efforts.
Cupcake orders are due no later than 5 p.m. on Mon., Feb. 10, so print out the order form and drop it by the zoo ASAP!
