Sequestration is being tallied about within main line news outlets almost entirely as the near “end of the world”. This was pointed out specifically in my last article.
But end of the world, it is not.
Make no mistake, the President’s sequestration will have a slight ache to it (that is “ache” and not pain); the few people affected will even feel as though they have been singled out but the degree of hurt and pain the mainline media is describing they might incur by the sequestration is being vastly exaggerated.
As one who has been a previous newspaper editor, this writer is both ashamed and embarrassed by the majority of the main line media reports on the President invented sequestration.
Most reports do not focus on the facts or the reason the sequestration came about; this writer attempted to describe these points at some length yet in simplicity so everyone could understand (in my previous article).
Once again, the facts of the President’s very own plan of sequestration are as follows:
Sequestration was invented, proposed and the bill signed by President Barack Obama back in 2011 to supposedly compromise with the GOP led House of Representatives in order to push through a budget without spending cuts (which House Republicans were insisting on) and allow automatic spending cuts to come about in 2013.
Now that those automatic spending cuts are about to “kick in” the president is trying to blame congress for his own idea as he tries to prevent cuts which the congress saw as necessary in 2011.
Anytime there is more spending than revenue (income), financial and budget adjustments must be made.
Most Americans are very aware of this reality.
The increased unemployment resulting from this administration’s poor economic plan has forced millions of Americans to cut back, lose their homes, take on two and three jobs to replace one job and in many cases families are separated by far distances just so a spouse can find work.
In short, nobody lives for free; including our government.
Our government simply spends far more than it takes in. With this administration there is no end to the spending in sight.
The result is that the House of Representatives (which are in charge of the budget) cannot get any cooperation from this out of control, spending frenzy White House.
The bottom line is that there must be spending cuts.
This will ultimately necessitate the elimination of needless civilian government jobs (or reduce salaries) and programs. It cannot and must not however, eliminate or reduce the effectiveness of our military superiority throughout the world.
The administration would have the American people believe the sequestration is all about spending cuts which will eliminate jobs or reduce salaries.
The truth however, is that this President’s agenda has nothing to do with budgeting and everything to do with the social restructuring of the nation.
The President has made it clear that he sees nothing wrong with the redistribution of wealth; in fact that is one of his priorities.
Forcing the congress to agree to put additional tax on wealthier Americans is just one example.
He has also demonstrated this by allowing tax free status to unnecessary Social Networking companies like Google and Facebook while increasing the tax on the necessary energy producing industries of oil and coal.
Like most of you, this writer loves Google and Facebook but we could live without them if we had to.
On the other hand, try and tell people in the Mid West and North East dealing with the current blizzard conditions what it would be like without fuel oil and coal for heating or just getting to work without gas and oil for your car.
This President is totally out of touch with reality and practicality; frankly he doesn’t care.
Again, the President’s agenda as he promised in 2008 is to rebuild a “new America” and not as previous presidents have stated, ”build up America”.
Barack Obama continues to pander to the vast majority of the liberal left. Most of these (with a few exceptions of course) of the far left Hollywood crowd, educational elitist and political radicals have never lived in the real world or worked a real job in their entire life.
The truth about the President invented sequestration is that it is neither the end of our economy nor the end of our nation or the world.
It is however; a distinct wake up call to remind the Republican led House of Representatives that sadly enough, this President cannot be trusted. Republican and conservative congressional leadership should never agree to a compromise with either the administration or the Democratic Party he represents.
This administration is like none other. The changes they are implementing are dangerous and destructive.
If this attitude and change is allowed to continue, this once strong and growing nation will continue its downward spiral and ultimately self destruct.
Self destruction will not occur because of the current sequestration but because the party of the loyal opposition (a.k.a. Republican/GOP) does not stand firm against this deceptive administration.
In short, compromise with this President is not an option.
Just as import is the fact that both parties are pandering to special interest without any regard for the important moral and fiscal responsible issues.
Of course, the further the administration continues attempts to please all of the people (the President's base) all the time increasing entitlements and making promises it cannot keep, the less chance the nation has for its real needs to be addressed.
This President who claims President Abraham Lincoln is his favorite President would do well to remember his well known quote, “You can please some of the people some of the time all of the people some of the time some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”
