Obama urged congress to take the necessary actions to stave off a trillion dollar spending reduction, set to devastate American society in March.
The only opportunity to repair America’s economy is made possible through the funds available to the population. Small businesses and schools would suffer immediately, following what would amount to a trillion dollar reduction to spending capabilities. School funding, job growth and innovations to our infrastructure risk further neglect if congress cannot agree to reinstate the available funding which would allow America to recover from the most recent economic depression.
Obama reiterated this point by stating that “the threat of massive, automatic cuts has already started to affect business decisions. So we've been reminded that while it's critical for us to cut wasteful spending, we can't just cut our way to prosperity."
Without necessary funding allowing for job growth, the continued economic turmoil resulting from years of the Bush administration catering to the needs of billionaires will not be repaired. We cannot fix America’s financial situation without improving educational standards and innovating our infrastructure, creating sustainable jobs in the process.
