Sequester not the disaster Obama promised. President Obama and his cabinet misled and deceived the country by predicting disaster for America because of the sequester. To reiterate, the sequester was not a cut in budget. The government is actually spending more this year than last. The sequester is merely a reduction in the rate of growth. Life continued.
There were no disasters much to the chagrin of Obama and his cabinet members. The Dow Jones Industrial closed at 14,397, an all time high and unemployment even dropped to 7.7%. Normally, Obama would have dominated the airwaves hogging the credit for such a triumph. But he predicted gloom for the past two months and the country is doing just fine without him.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano looked foolish trying to claim that delays were occurring at airports around the country. She mentioned Los Angeles, Chicago and Atlanta. None of these airports experienced any significant delays. Chicago was smothered in a snowstorm but the sequester doesn’t predict weather forecasts.
The Federal Government also had help wanted on respective web sites, namely the Agriculture and The U.S. Mint. So obviously jobs weren’t eliminated. Obama has invited Senate and House Republicans to discuss the budget. He’s inviting the wrong personnel. He should be talking to Senate Democrats who haven’t passed a budget in four years neglecting their constitutional responsibility.
Congressional Republicans should be cautious when dealing with Obama. They shouldn’t trust him any further than they can throw Debbie Stabenow. We at the Oakland Examiner call him the Manchurian Con Man for his deception not for his candor and honesty. He’s ordered White House tours closed indefinitely which was a sham because the tours are handled by volunteers and he will definitely use power ploys to create havoc in the country to sway public sentiment in his favor. His tale of woe isn’t going as planned.
Final Thought: California Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi said Obama has been kind to Republicans. This is the same woman who claimed the government doesn’t have a spending problem while she ran up a $2 million booze bill as House Speaker proving you don’t have to be smart to be in politics.
