On September 14, 2013 from 6:30 pm – 12:00 midnight, the Filipino Women’s Club of Tidewater (“FWCT”) will host “Hawaiian Night” at the Philippine Cultural Center in Virginia Beach.
Since their inception in 1964, FWCT have been long supporters and philanthropists of a variety of organizations including, but not limited to, “Joy Fund”, “Christian Children’s Fund and DePaul Clinic, just to name a few. FWCT organize and sponsor the various pageants for Miss Philippines, Mrs. Philippines and Miss Teen Philippines. These contests were the original source of income to fund the payment of the PCC’s mortgage and other costs and to this day are a big earner for this landmark.
FWCT is one of the oldest Fil-Am organizations in the Hampton Roads area.
Tickets are $15 and includes dinner as well as cultural performances, short presentations and the candidates for the upcoming Miss Philippines pageant. Despite the “Hawaiian” theme (this intrepid writer was able to garner from unnamed sources), the sponsors have promised ample line dancing as part of the festivities.
Special thanks to FWCT for the information in preparing this article.
