Faces & Voices of Recovery, the non-profit political action committee, announces a list of activities and events throughout the month to celebrate recovery awareness. The list includes marches, walks, town-hall meetings, picnics and online conferences to name a few. Here is a brief overview of some of the highlights:
• SEPT. 11: Transforming Youth Recovery will host a briefing on Capitol Hill entitled, “The Anonymous People: Changing the Conversation from Addiction to Recovery.” Honorary hosts include Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI); plus Representatives Hal Rogers (R-KY), Paul Tonko (D-MA) and Tim Ryan (D-OH). • SEPT. 21: Rally4Recovery will be held at various sites, including Providence, RI; Philadelphia, PA; and Dublin, Ireland. Buses across the city of Providence, RI are promoting this year’s national hub event – Rally4Recovery. http://www.facesandvoicesofrecovery.org/rally/ will be streaming from rallies in cities including Providence, Philadelphia and Dublin, Ireland and you’ll be able to watch this year’s Recovery Day taking place all across Canada on demand! Recovery 2.0 Conference
Recovery 2.0 is a FREE, online conference that showcases the voices of 30+ top professionals and thought-leaders to deliver cutting-edge, inspirational, spiritual, medical and practical approaches to treating and overcoming addictions of all kinds.
In March 2013, 16,000 people from 70 countries participated in the first Recovery 2.0 Conference. This month, organizers are expecting between 25,000 and 50,000 participants. The event begins Sept. 28 and runs through Oct. 2. Following is a short synopsis:

Mark Anthony Lord speaks on the importance of healing the “God Crap” in recovery. This conversation addresses God, Spirituality, Gratitude, Religion, Guilt, Shame, and a whole new experience of freedom that becomes available when we shift our consciousness to a living relationship with God.
SEP. 29: The Primary Element of Recovery
