September is a month that is known for many things including the Labor Day holiday which indicates the unofficial end of summer. However most people don't know that September is known as "Be Kind to Editors and Writers Month." Even editors and writers might not be aware of this special honor.

Why do we celebrate "Be Kind of Editors and Writers Month"? That's because editors and writers work hard to provide interesting reading for others to read, enjoy and become inspired. Editors and writers have the creativity and knowledge to make this happen, but it requires a special effort.

Editors and writers have the best job in the world. They use their imaginative minds to string words and phrases together more beautifully than the ordinary person ever could. An editor is one who reads, revises and makes suggestions for the writer. A writer is a person who uses written words in various styles and techniques to communicate facts and ideas. Writers produce various forms of literary art and creative writing such as novels, short stories, poetry, plays, news articles, screenplays, and essays. Writers can produce material across a number of genres, fictional or non-fictional.

Writers work professionally or non-professionally for payment or without payment and may be paid either in advance, or only after their work is published. Payment is only one of the motivations of writers and many are never paid for their work. Some writers write just for the thrill of it.

Be Kind to Editors and Writers Month is a time to show any writer you may know how much you value their hard work and devotion. It is hard to imagine a world without editors and writers. It would be dull and boring, and it would be nearly impossible to know what’s going on in the world or what to be entertained and enlightened about. You can show editors and writers gratitude in many ways, but the most important of all these ways is to read their work and to recommend their literary work to others.

Know that editors and writers often burn the midnight oil. When a creative idea is on our mind we have to share it with others. Let's make this a two-fold effort. Be kind to this writer, and this writer promises to be kind to you by sharing newsworthy articles as well as evergreen articles.

Read and share. It it not enough to click "like" on Facebook without reading the article. Open the link and click "like" within the article. Additionally, you can click "share" on your Facebook page so that others may read the article as well. Let's work together. As long as you continue to reader, this writer will continue to write.
