Anyone who loves fashion knows that the September issues of their favorite fashion magazines are the "what to wear " textbooks of fall fashion. And for the past several years they seem to be trying to outdo each other in terms of issue size and ad pages and this year is no exception. In fact, you may want to hit the gym and lift some weights to prepare for you trips to the mailbox or store when these fashion tomes get delivered to your door or find their way into your shopping cart.
Hearst magazines has announced that this September will be its biggest ever in terms of ad pages and revenue with their fashion titles leading the pack. Elle magazine will have its largest issue ever with 465 ad pages which is a 5% increase from last year. Harpers Bazaar is a close second at 444 ad pages (12% increase ) followed by Marie Claire with 261( 6% increase) and Cosmopolitan at 185 ( 8% increase).
Conde Nast has not announced their ad counts as of yet but their premiere fashion publication VOGUE had a whopping 665 ad pages last year and is usually the largest issue to hit the stands each September. Conde Nast is also the publisher of other fashion magazines such as Glamour, Teen Vogue, W, Lucky , GQ, and Details. Its daily publication, Womens Wear Daily is " the fashion bible" to industry insiders providing fashion forecasting, reviews , fashion news and financial news related to the fashion industry.
The September issues will be avaiable in mid August, just in time to inspire your fall fashion shopping.
