It is the battle of the camps in Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, the sequel to the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock (2008). Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato) returns back to Camp Rock and reunites with her friends, including Shane (Joe Jonas) and his band mates Jason (Kevin Jonas) and Nate (Nick Jonas). They find a new camp called Camp Star has opened across the lake. At a friendly bonfire at Camp Star, many Camp Rock campers are swept away by the splashy Camp Star musical performance featuring Luke Williams (Matthew "Mdot" Finley). Camp Rock diva Tess Tyler (Meaghan Jette Martin) and several others decide to leave and join Camp Star instead. On top of that, Nate falls in love with Dana (Chloe Bridges), the daughter of Camp Star's owner Axel Turner (Daniel Kash)!

With many campers gone and few Camp Rock staff left, Mitchie and her friends chip in and become counselors. While the future of Camp Rock is looking dismal, Mitchie and her friends plan a battle of the bands between the two camps at the Final Jam. In turn, Axel challenges them to a live televised musical showdown in Camp Wars. Determined to save Camp Rock, Mitchie's competitive edge gets the best of her and she becomes an unhappy camper. Adding to it, she and boyfriend Shane have more romantic misunderstandings.

As Mitchie becomes a bully to the other campers, will she realize that winning is not everything and remember the reason why she loved Camp Rock so much? As for Camp Wars, will the heart and soul of Camp Rock be able to sing and dance their way to winning, beating the over-the-top showy Camp Star performance? Or will this be the Camp Rock campers' last summer together?
