Andrew Chapman, owner of JoeBid.com, will be one of the featured presenters at the Wednesday, September 3 Startup Rewind from 7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Deer Creek Country Club in Overland Park, KS.

JoeBid.com is a Kansas City based company that helps homeowners quickly and easily find and hire qualified contractors.

On JoeBid.com a homeowner can review contractor profiles, ratings and reviews, all for free before deciding who they want to bid on their home maintenance or home improvement project. Contractors also like JoeBid because the only time they ever pay is when a lead actually converts.

"We do not charge to be listed, or even per lead, but rather a low percentage if the contractor does the work," explains Chapman.

Andrew and Alaina Chapman started JoeBid.com shortly after buying their first house. They were lucky enough to find a good deal in a good neighborhood, but the house needed a lot of work. Andrew spent many hours researching contractors and getting at least three bids for every project.

After spending so much time and effort just getting the bids, Andrew and Alaina decided there had to be a better way. Andrew spent many hours on the phone with contractors and observing focus groups of homeowners to understand how the process could be improved. As a result, JoeBid.com was created.

Startup Rewind provides a monthly voice for Kansas City area entrepreneurs and startup companies to share their stories.

The program helps to get the word out about new companies and ideas, while gaining feedback from the community of business leaders and other entrepreneurs. Organizers explain that the program helps foster business networking and encourage those entrepreneurs who are creating tomorrow's big ideas.

  • Startup Rewind takes presentation made at other entrepreneurial events from the entrepreneur scene in Kansas City and replays them again.

Each month at Startup Rewind, local entrepreneurs have six minutes to pitch their idea followed by questions and feedback from the audience. That feedback will help encourage and grow their ideas and in turn build a stronger community through business and entrepreneurship.
