September 24th is another day with a number of running events. The month of September had so many events that we divided the month into 3 articles.

The races for September 24thare:

The Healthy Way 5K- There wasn’t a lot of information available about this race. The race starts at Morgan Park, located at 1100 W. Hickory St. Arcadia, FL. (Click here for a map) The event is scheduled for a 7:30 am start. Click here to register online.

The Run for Water 5K- This event isan evening race. Itstarts and finishes at Cape Harbour, located at 5848 Cape Harbour Dr in Cape Coral. (Click here for a map). The race is scheduled to start at 6:00pm. There will be post race events at “The Joint” in Cape Harbour. WAY-FM will be broadcasting from the event. The race benefits GROW Africa, which helps provide water, food and vaccines to remote areas of Africa. Click here to register online.

Gasparilla Island 4 Mile Run-
This event happens on Boca Grande Island. The race is a fundraiser for the Boca Grande Community Center. The race starts at the Community Center, located at 131 First St W Boca Grande. (Click here for a map) The race is scheduled for a 7:30 am start. Click here to register online.

The last event for the 24th is the Walk, Wheel, Wobble for Ataxia in Estero. This is not a strictly running event. There is a 5K run at this event, as well as 3 bike rides (10, 30 and 62 mile distances). Participants can walk, run or ride any of the distances. The events start at the Holiday Inn Airport located at 9331 Interstate Commerce Dr. (Click here for a map) The bike rides kick off at 7:00 am and the run begins at 9:00 am Click here to register online. The event is to raise funds for research into the neurological disease Ataxia through a local charity called KNOW Ataxia. Click here to register online.
