A September 11 "Million Muslim March" on Washington was a washout. Organized by American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC), the march was renamed the "Million Americans Against Fear," but even that did not help their cause. According to Huffington Post on Sept. 11, 2013, bikers and counter-protesters vastly outnumbered the Muslim marchers.
An event initially billed as the "Million Muslim March" and set to be held in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, is set to fall far short of its attendance goal.
The September 11 event was upstaged by an even stronger showing by the "2 million bikers to D.C.: 9/11 rally is on without permit," as covered recently by this same writer. This event was expected to draw at least 3,000 bikers to parade through the nations capitol. By all reports it sounds like it was a success.
Previously the "Million Muslim March" was also covered here, "Million Muslim March: AMPAC to conduct protest march on 9/11." The event was billed as one to bring together both Muslim and non-Muslim alike. It did, but not in the way the organizers likely intended.
