The fall television season is officially upon us, and that means a lot of television to choose from every night. Whether you're one of the lone few who still watch live, or you just need to know what's worth DVRing with limited space there, LA TV Insider Examiner is not merely letting you know what shows will deliver new episodes on any given night but rather what is worth watching.
These are our recommendations for primetime Friday, September 27 2013.
Masterchef Junior (FOX, 8 p.m.) - "Here Come The Kids" - On the series premiere, 24 talented child chefs that range from ages eight to 13 audition to compete in the Masterchef kitchen for Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot, and Joe Bastianich.
Hawaii Five-0 (CBS, 9 p.m.) - “Aloha ke kahi I ke kahi" - On the fourth season premiere, after McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos) narrowly escape from maximum security, gunmen storm Five-0 headquarters, compromising Kono (Grace Park) and Adam's (Ian Anthony Dale) secret location in Hong Kong and forcing McGarrett to break the law and turn on his own in order to find a kidnapped Catherine (Michelle Borth).
Blue Bloods (CBS, 10 p.m.) - "Unwritten Rules" - On the fourth season premiere, when an armed robbery ends with the death of a police officer, Frank (Tom Selleck) makes it a mission for the NYPD to bring the suspect to justice. However, tensions run high in the Reagan household when Erin (Bridget Moynihan) drops the charges and releases the suspect due to lack of evidence.
Haven (Syfy, 10 p.m.) - "Bad Blood" - Nathan (Lucas Bryant) is on the case when bodies that appear to have been drained of all of their blood are discovered while Duke (Eric Balfour) tries desperately to get his half-brother Wade (Christian Camargo) to make his stay in Haven only a short one.
