The fall television season is officially upon us, and that means a lot of television to choose from every night. Whether you're one of the lone few who still watch live, or you just need to know what's worth DVRing with limited space there, LA TV Insider Examiner is not merely letting you know what shows will deliver new episodes on any given night but rather what is worth watching.
These are our recommendations for primetime Monday, September 23 2013.
How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8 p.m.) - "The Locket" - On the ninth season premiere, on their way to Long Island for their wedding weekend, Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) come across a startling family discovery. Meanwhile, Marshall (Jason Segel) sees something online that changes the course of his entire journey back east, and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) confronts Ted (Josh Radnor) about letting go of Robin.
The Voice (NBC, 8 p.m.) - "Blind Auditions Premiere" - Othe season premiere of the newest cycle that reunites the original coaches, the “blind auditions” are held in front of the celebrity panel of Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera, who each hand pick vocalists for their individual teams. The strongest vocalists from across the country compete to be selected by one of the coaches and fight for a chance to win the title of being named “The Voice.” Carson Daly still hosts.
Castle (ABC, 10 p.m.) - "Valkyrie" - On the sixth season premiere, Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) will deal with the consequences of their decisions against the backdrop of a high-stakes investigation. Lisa Edelstein guest stars in a three-episode arc as a tough and highly-skilled Federal investigator whose appearance plays a vital role in Beckett's decision about her future. And there is yet another cliff-hanger with this premiere-- an even bigger one than with which last season's finale left off.
Hostages (CBS, 10 p.m.) - "Pilot" - After Dr. Ellen Sanders (Toni Collette), a prominent Washington D.C. surgeon, is handpicked to operate on the President of the United States, rogue FBI agent Duncan Carlisle (Dylan McDermott) and armed intruders suddenly take her and her family hostage. Scared and bewildered, Ellen soon learns the reason: unless she assassinates the President during surgery, her captors will kill them all.
The Blacklist (NBC, 10 p.m.) - "Pilot" - Ex-government agent and one of the FBI’s Most Wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) mysteriously turns himself in to the FBI and offers to give up everyone he has ever worked with including a long-thought-dead terrorist but under one condition– he’ll only talk to newly-minted female FBI profiler, Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) with whom he seemingly has no connection. For Liz, it’s going to be one hell of a first day on the job and what follows is a twisting series of events as the race to stop a terrorist begins.
Which will you watch??
