The fall television season is officially upon us, and that means a lot of television to choose from every night. Whether you're one of the lone few who still watch live, or you just need to know what's worth DVRing with limited space there, LA TV Insider Examiner is not merely letting you know what shows will deliver new episodes on any given night but rather what is worth watching.
These are our recommendations for primetime Friday, September 20 2013.
Last Man Standing (ABC, 8 p.m.) - "Back to School" - On the second season premiere, Mike (Tim Allen) finds that Mandy's (Molly Ephraim) steady boyfriend Kyle's (Christoph Sanders) new interest in philosophy is distracting him from his work at The Outdoor Man Store. A solution may be in the offing when camo-wearing and regular customers Brody (Willie Robertson) and Uncle Ray (Si Robertson) come to the sporting goods store to get outfitted for their annual moose hunting expedition. Meanwhile, Mike is skeptical about his grandson attending a bilingual school and wants Kristin (Amanda Fuller) and Ryan (Jordan Masterson) to switch him to a school in his neighborhood.
The Neighbors (ABC, 8:30 p.m.) - "Family Conference" - On the second season premiere, as the summer winds down, Amber (Clara Mamet) and Reggie (Tim Jo) reveal to their families that they've been dating. Jackie (Toks Olagundoye) calls for a family conference-- in a newly revealed basement at the Bird-Kersee home-- at which both families vote on whether or not the couple can stay together. Things approach fever pitch until Abby (Isabella Cramp) interrupts with a heartfelt speech about how Reggie is the only person to ever make Amber smile. Then, just as the families are about to embrace the relationship, an unexpected guest arrives to compete for Reggie's affections. Megan Park joins the cast as Jane.
America's Next Top Model (The CW, 9 p.m.) - "The Girl Whose Walk Is TOO Good" - Two eliminated models get a chance to return, while two overly confident competitors find it difficult to book a runway show, and one girl gets distracted at the photo shoot because of her crush.
Haven (Syfy, 10 p.m.) - "Survivors" - Duke (Eric Balfour) tries to get Nathan (Lucas Bryant) to focus less on finding Audrey (Emily Rose) and more with a Troubled person who appears to be immolating the residents of the town in broad daylight.
Best Week Ever (VH1, 10 p.m.) - A group of comedians and commentators take a look at the week's offerings for pop culture and entertainment news.
Which will you watch??
