Gilbert Soliz, the creative and most talented makeup artist for Sephora PRO, says makeup itself for Dennis Basso's 2013 Fall Collection has a 1960's feminine look, with the iconic 1960's sexy cat's eye. Fall 2013's look for Dennis Basso is like that of a sophisticated woman of the 1960's. Kabuki and Gilbert updated the 1960s look, by using a gray liquid liner, called Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Alloy. For the lips, they used Nars Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in Club Mix, which is a luscious, glossy and smooth lip gloss pencil from NARS to balance out the 1960s sexy cat's eye look. The skin is kept really fresh and feminine, and the lashes are demi-wispy on the corners.
It's can be a challenge to look flawless during cold winter months, and Gilbert was so nice to take a few minutes out of his incredibly busy backstage schedule to offer an inside scoop of some of his top makeup tips for a cold, rainy or snowy winter day. During the cold winter months skin becomes dull, so Gilbert suggested using a tinted moisturizer and BB cream to create a fresh look and feel. For durability, Gibert said to prep skin with a mattifying primer to help lock in and hold makeup on the skin, and Becca has an amazing new primer to insure the wear of makeup. Thanks to Gilbert, I have a mission to conquer on my next beauty trip to Sephora. For more from Gilbert Soliz backstage at the Dennis Basso Fall 2013 show, click here.
