After the announcement of eight new anime acquisitions over the weekend, anime publisher Sentai Filmworks today makes it an even ten, as it confirms the acquisition of two more series, “Chaika -The Coffin Princess-” and “My Mental Choices are Completely Interfering with my School Romantic Comedy”.

“Chaika -The Coffin Princess-” is a fantasy action adventure anime series based on the Japanese light novel series by Ichiro Sakai. The anime adaptation features animation by Bones (Space Dandy), and it is directed by Soichi Masui (Scrapped Princess). It aired in Japan from April to June of this year.

The series follows Toru Acura, a 20-year old, retired soldier who is struggling to adapt to life off of the battlefield. He gets a pretty big push however, when his little sister Akari threatens Toru to either find a job, or a grave site. As Toru heads out to find a job, he runs into Chaika, a young girl from another country who carries a coffin on her back and is a skilled sniper. Together, Toru and Chaika will embark on a journey that will not only force them to confront their pasts, but will also change their futures.

Anime fans can look for “Chaika -The Coffin Princess-” to be available through select digital outlets soon, and Sentai Filmworks also have plans for a home video release. No details about when we can expect the home video release were given at this time.

Based on the Japanese light novel series written by Takeru Kasukabe and illustrated by Yukiwo, “My Mental Choices are Completely Interfering with my School Romantic Comedy” is a comedy slice of life series directed by Takayuki Inagaki (Rosario+Vampire), featuring animation by Diomedea (Polyphonica Crimson S). The series originally aired in Japan between October and December 2013.

The series follows Kanade Amakusa, a high school student, who due to the “Absolute Choice” curse, has had his life turned into a choose your own adventure game. Random choices appear before him and if he doesn’t choose one, he suffers agonizing pain, but sometimes the choices aren’t any better than the pain. When he chooses to “Have a beautiful girl fall from the sky”, he meets Chocolat, a girl sent to help Kanade break his curse, but she has amnesia and can’t remember how to break it. Now Kanade must complete a series of missions, and if he fails to meet the objectives, he will be stuck with his curse forever.

“My Mental Choices are Completely Interfering with my School Romantic Comedy” will be available through select digital outlets soon, and a home video release will follow. No official details about the home video release have been given at this time.
