Brooklyn, New York—Sensation, the world’s leading dance and electronic music event, announced that it will be celebrating its 100th show on Saturday, October 26th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The show will feature world renowned artists: Mr. White, Nic Fanciulli, Sunnery James, Ryan Marciano, Fedde le Grand and MC Gee, who have toured with Sensation over the course of the year. This will mark Sensation’s last stop on its first ever U.S. tour, which has made its way across the country from California, Las Vegas, Miami, and finally, to New York City.
This year, Sensation’s “Ocean of White” will be a heightened experience of the senses as the Barclays Center is transformed into a water-world of mystery. Oversized LED lit jellyfish will suspend from the air and light exhibitions will center on a 236 foot stage, featuring 200 different types of pyrotechnical effects, 22 water fountains, and flying acrobats choreographed to the best house music the world has to offer. Fans will be in awe of the marvels that the Sensation experience brings each year to dance music enthusiasts across the globe.
Sensation’s signature all-white, party attire will be enforced, so dress accordingly. The mandatory all white dress code was instituted as a way to pay tribute to ID&T’s co-founder Miles Stutterheim, who passed away in a tragic car accident. Miles’s funeral became a celebration of his life with guests arriving in white and DJs playing music in his memory. From that point on, Miles’s brother and ID&T co-founder Duncan Stutterheim have come together every year to throw a party honoring his life.
ID&T, the organization behind Sensation, is also known for its award winning festival Tomorrowland. Sensation was initiated in Amsterdam in 2000, and since then, millions of people around the world have experienced one of its spectacular, international dance and music events.
Each Sensation features, “The Mix,” a musical trip through history that includes an array of old classics and new tracks which are synchronized to a show and fireworks display. For many, it is an exciting climax to every Sensation show, setting itself apart from all other dance events and making the fans, along with the music, the stars of the show
While Sensation’s reputation has grown, the music has evolved and taken on its own style. Sensation’s primary focus is making the event the best it can possibly be by choosing DJs who play the industry’s leading, cutting edge music of today and tomorrow.
