Update 6/7/14: Safe! With the help of two rescue agencies working together, this senior dog was pulled from the facility on Friday and he is being taken in by the Modjeska Ranch Rescue.
A ten-year-old German shepherd who is housed at the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Lancaster, Calif., is running out of time.
The senior dog, whose name is not known, has been at the facility since May 27 - during that time, nobody has come to reclaim him and he has not been adopted or taken in by a rescue organization.
The dog, ID#A4714528, appears to have an unkempt coat and he is likely suffering from the common maladies of old age, including arthritis and atrophied muscles...he needs to leave the facility and go to a place where he can enjoy quiet time on a soft bed, with the company of someone who cares about his well-being.
