Since March, a senior dog named "Lucy," has been at a Los Angeles, Calif., area veterinary clinic - homeless and growing more depressed with each passing day.
The eight-year-old dog was owned by an alcoholic woman who claimed that Lucy helped her gain her sobriety...but the devotion that Lucy showed to her former guardian was not returned. The woman who had Lucy since she was just a year of age moved and, according to those trying to find her a home, "never looked back."
Lucy's body suggested that she had not been well cared for by her prior owner - she was dirty and had several medical issues, including masses and decayed teeth. A rescue agency stepped up to have Lucy's veterinary problems addressed - unfortunately, there has been no one interested in providing her with a home and there are no available foster homes.
Lucy is described as "shy and timid," and living in a cage, without constant human interaction, is not helping.
Please take a moment to network this lovely girl - she is in need of a new guardian, or even a loving foster home. Anyone who has questions or who is interested in helping, is encouraged to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
