Downey, CA: This is a high kill shelter. This poor dog is thought to be around 12 years old. He came in with a huge chain around his neck.
It looks as though this dog has never been allowed to be a dog, to run and play. His eyes tell the story of a sad boy who's given up and is waiting to die.
"This poor guy looks like he probably spent his whole life on a chain, with barely enough food. His bones are sticking out in his spine, and the heavy chain still on his neck."
Animal lovers are begging, "Can anyone give this poor dog a proper retirement?"
