If you have always dreamed of visiting the fabulous sites of Japan, but can’t quite come up with the money, or time to go, a Japanese travel agency may have an alternative plan. Send your stuffed animals instead.
This is not an early Halloween trick. Jen Markham from Buzz:60 introduces us to Unagi Travel, a specialty travel agency for your stuffed animals.
The idea is simple enough: send your stuffed animal to the company in Japan, and in a couple of weeks, you’ll receive it and a CD full of photos of your stuffed animal visiting all the hot spots throughout Tokyo. Who does not want a picture of their special friend enjoying one of the country’s best sushi bars? Letting your Teddy Bear enjoy Mount Fuji is the next best thing to you being there.
The idea of worldwide travel for gnomes has become a standby for certain travel entities, and charities have had much success bringing stuffed animal “hosts” together to raise money. But this is a whole new way to see the world-- through the eyes of your stuffed friends.
So, how about it? Would you send your favorite toy to Tokyo?
