This is a prime example of politicians and lobbist getting involved who do not have any idea of what they are doing.
Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu knows absolutely nothing of the depth of criminal activity undertaken by the employeees of the corporations which prompted the BP / Transocean / Halliburton disaster.
Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu is asking the EPA to allow BP to start up drilling again in the Gulf of Mexico where BP / Transocean & Halliburton destroyed her very own state and the people as well, even before the federal court hearing are over and the full extent of the criminal betrayal of these companies is held before the public.
This is a perfect example of a politician selling out her state and her people for promises and money donated to her by the oil and gas companies.
The transcripts of the federal hearings where BP / Transocean and Halliburton employees and professional witnesses for them are full of lies and half truths. People are scrambling not to be found guilty and being charged with a crime and corporate flunkies are putting out their lies to keep the company out of being charged with " gross neglegance "
Mary Landrieu , you will notice i no longer recognize her as a senator or a citizen of Louisiana for her betrayal, is trying to pre-empt the court decision, if BP is found guilty of "gross neglegance" they could very well never be allowed to drill in the gulf again.
Why is Mary Landrieu trying to get BP permission to drill in the gulf befor the court hearings are over and done with and the whole truth has come to light ? SELFISHNESS, plain and simple BP got to her with money, contributions and promises to her for her support.
BETRAYAL , totally lacking in honesty and integrity with any consideration for justice. Mary Landrieu will not be getting my vote next time election comes around.
There are plenty of companies willing to drill in the Gulf of Mexico , BP showed it no longer deserves to have the privledge.
Yes they did do their best to fix what they broke , the problem is they should have fixed the problem before it devistated the lives of millions of people along the gulf coast first. That was their responsibility they failed to live up to.
If "we the people" get any justice out of this , BP will be found guilty of "gross negligence" and banned from the Gulf of Mexico , forced to sell all of its gulf assets.
This will send a VERY CLEAR message to the other operators in the Gulf of Mexico.
Take care of your responsibilities to protect the personnel , the environment and the assets BEFORE they cause disaster or harm, or you will be forced out of the offshore Gulf of Mexico oil & gas business.
Its time lives and the environment came before individual coprorations criminal acts to increase their profits.
