Senate and House Bills regarding cruelty to animals in the State of Ohio

There are many bills in the Ohio Legislature to be voted upon regarding companion animals and livestock and the care and cruelty convictions on behalf of the animals. Please get your voice heard and contact your representatives.

HB57 is a sister Bill to Nitro's Law, which requires humane agent training, it has passed in the House and is assigned to the Senate Agriculture Committee.

HB243 requires mandatory psychological for a juvenile offender of animal cruelty is currently assigned to the House Judiciary Committee.

HB257 Goddard's Law strengthens penalties against companion animals and has passed the House and is assigned to the Senate Agriculture Committee.

HB310 strengthens protection for assistance dogs has passed in the House and is assigned to the Senate State Government and Oversite and Reform Committee.

SB177 requires companion animals to be included in protective orders and is currently assigned to the Senate Criminal Justice Committee.

SB217 strengthens state oversite of veterinarian clinics and is assigned to the Senate Agriculture Committee.
