The good senator stood up for the real party of freedom and slammed big liberal government as having destroyed black America. “It was a bold decision,” he said, “to change to Republican.” Not only was the decision right for him, it would be a right one also for “my brothers and sisters in the black community.”
Sen. Guillory cited the Republican Party as the party of freedom. Republican Abraham Lincoln stood against slavery and signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Furthered rights were granted by congressional Republicans writing the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. He cited former president Eisenhower among the Republicans extending the rights of the black community.
And then, Sen. Guillory attacked his former party affiliate. The Democrat Party is the party of liberalism. Liberalism is all about control. Democrats, he said, “disguise control as charity” and declared that for all of the so-called government help for the black community, the poor are “just as poor as always.”
The Senator finalized his remarks on the subject of freedom. Government targets our freedoms in areas including the economy, the press, and citizens’ emails and phone records while intimating that all Americans need emancipation from such insidious limits on our liberties.
He pointed to the value of parents as decision makers on family matters instead of the government. He suggested that fathers in the black community should be home with their families. And, he pointed to the Democrat rule in government as the agent of dependence that prevents Americans from being all they can be. Guillory's values resonate more with Republicans.
The Democrat naysayers, of course, were quick to jump on the “race card” bandwagon while the video went viral a mere two days after Guillory posted it on June 17.
What race has to do with it is only that a revered member of the black community pointed to the party he chose to abandon while joining the one compatible with his values.
Guillory calls it the “government plantation” when speaking of the subservience African-Americans pay to big government and its uberliberal rulers. “Liberalism has nearly destroyed black America, and now it’s time for black America to return the favor” said Guillory with a smile according to The Blaze.
Like Guillory, have America's black communities had enough of the "plantation?"
