Seminole Roots: 'Optimist Hearts' (2013)

"Optimist Hearts" by Seminole Roots is an Alt. Americana album.

Instrumentally somewhat acoustic productions are accented by noodling electric guitars and layered vocals.

The track "King Lion" provides a slow build, and really allows a single idea to flow completely out. "Casual Acts of Consideration" explores a similar structure, but with a more tight and concise execution- both are enjoyable.

The song "Chinatown" dip into a lofi pop kind of feel- the sound is undeniably catchy yet remains eclectic and unique as the structure unfolds.

"American Dreamer" adds a dash of nostalgia to things, with a stirring theme on childhood that makes for the most melancholy track on the album.

The final track (also the title track) is an epic 9 minute build that ends things on a dissonant and longing note... leaving the listener helplessly wanting more.

Their overall sound reminds me of a more sunny incarnation of Modest Mouse- definitely Spring music.

The download on their Bandcamp page is only three dollars, but an "Important Notice" on the page explains that it's completely free, you just need to buy him a Monster Energy drink and it's yours.
