The Junior Gold League at Seminole Lanes, consists of 22 youth bowlers. I started the league out back in the Summer of 2012. We are still running even bigger than we started, which is always good to hear.

Last year, three youth boys qualified through our league and were able to go to Detroit, MI., they were Kristian Sieradzki, Marques Houston & Phillip Reckner. You can see their pictures on our Junior Gold website. And they are wearing their shirts that were provided to them by ProLine Bowling Supply. & Seminole Lanes. http://seminolelanes.com/LEAGUES/JUNIOR-GOLD-SPORT

This past summer, Gerald Houston & Brandon Lownsbury qualified as high point winners and in November Phillip Reckner qualified at the Florida State USBC Youth Landen Tournament. Jacob Myers, Mitch Huett & Daniel Doss qualified through the Burkins Bowling tournament. And two more from our fall league will be advancing as well. And Sarah Sudduth in the Liberty Bombers Monthly Tournament. We are very proud of our group.

The North Pointe Junior Gold National Tournament is in Buffalo, New York this year. It runs from July 12 – July 18th. There are other tournaments in Buffalo while this one is going on as well, the Youth OPEN, Survivor Tournament, and Youth/Adult Tournament.

The youth bowlers bowl on a sport shot which is more difficult than your normal house shot. This league is also a scholarship league. More and more leagues and tournaments offer scholarship monies for college for youth bowlers. Their money is sent to the SMART program at USBC, till they graduate high school and move on to college for up to 6 years after they graduate high school.

The league gets sponsors for the entry fee's which are $200 and the only way a youth bowler can bowl in this National Tournament is to qualify in a Junior Gold league or Junior Gold Tournament that has been certified by Junior Gold. Seminole Lanes offers different programs for businesses interested in sponsoring our league; you can find them on our junior gold page.

The parents told me last year’s trip set them back about $2500 for the family to go. It is a weeklong tournament. It is an awesome experience for the kids and parents. This is a huge scholarship tournament for these kids.

On April 27th, myself and the parents & youth bowlers are having a bowl-a-thon at Seminole Lanes to raise money to help send these families get to Buffalo. Some parents are driving and some are flying. So we are talking about families, flying or driving, hotel stays and eating, and site seeing as this is possibly a first time trip to New York for some. I am thinking of going to see the kids bowl and I have never been to New York.

There will be bowling, a silent auction and door prizes, and some raffles. On the Seminole Lanes Junior Gold website is a form telling you about the bowl-a-thon. I also have a sponsor sheet, and you can email me below for a copy of that. I hope everyone has a chance to either come out to our bowl-a-thon or make a donation. If anyone would like to donate something to our silent auction please feel free to contact me at celeste@seminolelanes.com

We hope everyone comes out and enjoys a fun day filled with a lot of fun, and we can raise lots of money for these youth bowlers!!!! Please tell your family and friends about this, you do not have to bowl, come out and see what great items we have on our silent auction table!!!
