Semifinals set at Innisbrook Women's Open 25K

Friday means the quarterfinals in singles play at the Innisbrook Women's Open, a 25K event on the 2013 USTA Women's Pro Circuit.

The Innisbrook Women's Open is the first of two consecutive $25,000 women’s events to be played on clay to start out 2013. It also begins the first of two clay-court seasons on the USTA Pro Circuit calendar; the other begins in the spring, leading up to the French Open.

Play this week is taking place at the beautiful Innisbrook Golf Resort and Spa in Palm Harbor, Florida, a venue all the players love.

Advancing to the final four on Saturday are a talented German in Kristina Barrois. Barrois defeated Hilda Melander of Sweden 6-2, 6-2. Barrois will next face seventh-seeded Tadeja Majeric. Majeric has cruised into the semifinals this week without losing a set.

The other semi will feature Ajla Tomljanovic of Croatia and Norway's Ulrikke Eikeri.
Tomljanovic won a long three-setter and Eikeri continued her consistent play with a straight set win over Anne Schaefer of Germany.

The Tomljanovic/Eikeri match should be up for grabs, with both players having past success on the USTA Pro Circuit.

In the doubles final, Eikeri and her partner, Chieh-Yu Hsu will play Florencia Molinero of Argentina and Adriana Perez of Venezuela.
