Yumm! Sometimes nothing is better than a home cooked meal from a family recipe. Well your not the only one who wants that meal. Some eBay buyers are looking for recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation, and are willing to dish out the dough to buy them!
I remember when I was growing up, my mom would always make her chocolate pie every holiday. It really was an amazing pie, and as an adult I figured out the recipe. Its chocolate pudding and a pie crust. There you go, you now have our family secret recipe!
So lets say that you don’t really want to sell your own family recipes, then where do you get them? There are a few places.
Estate Sales – Majority of your hand written vintage cook books may be found at estate sales.
Thrift Stores – I have found quite a few of these at Goodwill and Salvation Army.
Create an Ad – You can create a free ad online letting people know that you will buy these off of them, and then you can resell on eBay.
You can create more value for your recipes if you are able to write a nice description about them. Make sure you are putting what kind of recipes they are, and if they focus on specific foods, then thats even better! A story can always make you more money, so try to get more information on the recipes. You need to write your eBay description like you are writing for the food network channel. Be as descriptive as possible, with out giving away the recipe.
Another route you may go is to make copies of your own family recipes and sell them on eBay. You really wont get as much as you would if they were getting the original, but it can be an easy way to have a product that you can sell over and over again on a CD. Selling recipes can be easy, so keep an eye out for them while shopping for other eBay inventory items.
